Our company is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Junior Accountant to join our team.

The Junior Accountant will help support Advocate’s Finance team in the US, will report directly to the Finance Manager and will collaborate with the Ops, CS and Sales Team. To excel in this role, you will need strong financial/accounting skills, a desire to improve current processes, and excitement to grow beyond the general Junior Accountant role.

The monthly gross salary for the position is €1,200 (on a 14-months basis).

What you’ll be doing

  • Be involved in the full accounting cycle: (i) month-end closing; (ii) balance sheet account review, analysis, clearing, and reconciliation; and (iii) journal entries.
  • Prepare timely and accurate customer invoicing; collaborate with Operations, Sales, and CS teams to ensure accuracy and completeness of invoices.
  • Post customer payments by recording checks, ACH’s, wires, and credit card transactions.
  • Conduct internal reviews and ensure compliance with company policies and GAAP standards.
  • Send out periodic statements to clients for collections; follow up and assist with billing issues.
  • Manage expense reports and provide monthly analysis.
  • Handle accounts payable and vendor functions.
  • Perform Monthly & Quarterly Review of financials and projections with Finance Manager.
  • Ensure internal controls are being followed.
  • Assist with the preparation of budget and forecast.
  • Assist with tasks and ad-hoc projects as needed.

What you need for the role

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • 1-2 years of financial, accounting experience.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to learn quickly and manage multiple assignments.
  • Knowledge of accounting software such as QBO.
  • Ability to work with team members in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping principles and procedures.
  • Strong skills using Excel and other Microsoft Office software, use of formulas and formatting.
  • Comply with internal controls and company policies.
